About MKT1
MKT1 is a B2B startup marketing media and advisory company founded by Emily Kramer. We publish a newsletter read by ~80,000 marketers and run an MCP server that brings marketing skills into Claude (among many other projects).
We're hiring a part-time intern for Summer 2026 to help across content, social, and operations. You'll get hands-on experience in marketing while learning about AI, startups, marketing, and building an audience. No marketing major required.
What you'll do
- Edit short-form video for YouTube, LinkedIn, and other social channels
- Run social posting across platforms
- Support MKT1 operations and admin tasks for Emily Kramer
- Write AEO content (answer-engine optimization: content built to get cited by AI)
- Build, maintain, and QA Claude skills that automate marketing tasks
- Engage in our Slack chat, Substack posts, and LinkedIn comments to keep the MKT1 community thriving
Who you are
- A current college student
- You can edit short-form video and know your way around the major social platforms—and can show us work that's live
- You use AI tools daily, can tell us about what you use, and already build with Claude
- Organized, self-driven (you don't wait to be told what to do next), flexible, and a fast learner
- Comfortable communicating primarily via Slack without frequent in-person meetings
The details
- Hours: ~15 per week, preferably 3 hours a day
- Location: Remote, within 3 hours of Eastern Time
- Pay: $30 per hour or college credit (your decision)
- Start: Ideal start date is July 6th, with a chance to continue into the school year
- Team: You'll work directly with the MKT1 team, including Emily Kramer
How to apply
No cover letter needed. 3 things are required:
- Your LinkedIn URL. No resumes.
- A video you made. 60 seconds or less, with graphics and text on screen. Tell us what tools you used, and be ready to show us how you built it. It can be a personal video, we don't care what the topic is, and it doesn't need to be customized to MKT1 — we'd rather it be something you've made in the past.
- A Claude skill you built. Paste the text of your
SKILL.md right into the form. If you move to an interview, we'll ask you to walk us through how you made it.
We are looking for people who have spent time making social videos and building in Claude. If meeting these requirements feels like a big ask, this likely isn't the right role.
